BURCHFIELD, INEZ MERRITT

Inez Merritt Burchfield, 96, passed away on Sunday, March 5th, 2017. She was born on September 16th, 1920 in Maryville Tenn. to William Luther Merritt and Anna Haynes Merritt. She graduated from Maryville High School in 1938, received a BS degree from Tennessee State Teachers College (now ETSU) in 1942 and a MS degree from Nova University in 1976.
During her 31 year teaching career, she taught Math, Science and Physical Education. It was at her first teaching job at Knoxville Central High School, Knoxville, Tennessee she met her future husband Harold Lee Burchfield who was the school football coach. They married on June 3rd, 1944 and were married for 65 years at the time of his death in 2009. Her last 15 years of teaching were at Fletcher Junior High (Math). She was selected teacher of the year in 1984 and retired in 1985.
Inez and Harold moved to Atlantic Beach in 1969 after residing in Miami Florida for more than twenty years. She originally was a member of the Palms Presbyterian Church before joining Community Presbyterian in 1981.
Since joining Community Presbyterian Church, she was an elder, chairman of the pre-school committee, member of the Mariners Sunday School Class, past leader of the Mary Martha Circle, Ageless Wonders and office volunteer. She also volunteered at the Mission House and delivered Meals on Wheels and was so proud to be awarded a Life membership in Presbyterian Women United.
She was a member of the Ribault Garden Club Camellia and Magnolia Circles, Ribault Life Member, State Life Member, Florida Landscape Consultant, District IV Officer and recipient of the Hall of Fame and Pillar of Pride awards. She won many blue ribbons in Horticulture.
She was an avid reader, excellent cook, gardener, Sudoku puzzler and bridge player. She was a wonderful Mother, Nana , Great-Grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed beyond words and her memory will live in our hearts forever.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, sister Alice Joyce Merritt, brother William L. Merritt Jr. and her husband.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Alice and Woody Richardson, Grandchildren; Matthew (Sarah), Ryan (Whitney), Anna (Bradley) Richardson, Step Granddaughter Lisa Woods (Dan), Great Grandchildren; Paige Wrighton, Camden and Charlotte Richardson, Rylee Merritt Richardson (due in April), Kaylee, Gabbi, Trevor and Brayden Woods.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday March 10 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jax Beach. A service to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 on Saturday March 11th at Community Presbyterian Church 150 Sherry Drive Atlantic, Beach.
A reception will follow the service with interment at H. Warren Smith Cemetery.

BUNCH, GARY DEAN

Gary Dean Bunch, 75, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the McGraw Center from complications due to a battle with cancer.
Gary is survived by his son, Troy (Cindy) Bunch; daughter Kim (Ken) Kirschling; brother, Dan Bunch; sisters, Babs Bunch, Diana (Mark) Williams and Renee (Jim) Dodson; partner/companion C.C. White; goddaughter/niece, Kirstin Immell; grandchildren, Joshua, Madisen and Kasey; and a multitude of friends.
Gary was born in Denver, Colorado on December 10, 1941. After graduating high school, he followed in his father’s footsteps and started working in the banking business. His true passion in life was being outside (mostly playing golf) but he also enjoyed travel, food and working with his hands creating and building things for his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life and Reception will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, March 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.

Eileen Rose Allegro of Ponte Vedra, FL, 55, passed away suddenly on March 1, 2017. Eileen moved to Ponte Vedra in 2001 to be near family and pursue her passion, working with dogs. She attended the Triple Crown Academy in 2005 where she was certified as a K-9 & Behavioral Specialist. Eileen used her talent to train, breed, and care for hundreds of dogs in the area. 
Eileen is survived by her father and step mother in St. Augustine, Jim and Lesley Allegro; sisters: Leslie Allegro, Christine Allegro, Pauline Gerry, Deborah Chapin, and Julie Allegro; brothers: Jim Allegro and Greg Allegro and 12 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother, Antrese Allegro and nephew, Jamie Chapin.
A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, (904)285-2698, followed by an inurnment at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery, (904) 285-1130.

Thomas Richard Oesterreicher, Jr., 69, passed March 11, 2017 in Naples, Florida. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on June 23, 1947 at St. Vincent's Medical Center.
Richard proudly served his country as an electronics technician in the US Air Force. He founded Best Safe & Lock in Naples in 1976, which he owned and operated for 13 years. Later he retired as an Energy Consultant for Florida Power and Light. He was an avid golfer and Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
He is preceded by his parents Thomas R. Oesterreicher, Sr. & Lois (Chambliss) Jirovec. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Kathleen (Tracy), children Richard (and wife Kristina) Oesterreicher of Alpharetta, GA and Tracy (and husband Bill) Shaw of Naples, FL, his sister, Pamela Aulwurm and brother, Wally White. He was loved and cherished by his granddaughters, Emma and Chloe Oesterreicher.
Interment will occur at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to NCH Heart Institute or UF Health Proton Therapy Institute.

Ruth Nita Eggers, age 86, of Erwin TN, passed away on Saturday March 4, 2017 in the NHC Health Care. Mrs. Eggers moved from Jacksonville, FL to Unicoi County in 1996. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Mamie Marshall Elliott.  Niota was a member of Unicoi Methodist Church. She retired from the City of Jacksonville Tax Assessor's office. 
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Eggers on September 4, 2012 and one brother, Bill Elliott.
She leaves behind two sons: Robert E. "Rob" Eggers and wife, Brigitte of Leavenworth, WA, Fredrick R "Randy" Eggers and wife Carol of Jacksonville Beach, FL; one daughter, Leslie Honrath and husband Danny of Erwin, TN three grandsons: Daniel Honrath, Justin Eggers, and Christopher Eggers, also one nieces and two nephews.
Niota remains will be buried at Mountain Home Cemetery with her husband Bob.

Nancy Carver Adams, 73, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2017 while hospitalized battling aggressive lung cancer. She lived in Cypress Village in Jacksonville.
She was born October 21, 1943 to her late parents, Robert Carver and Margaret Brett Carver, in Lakewood, OH. She graduated from Lakewood (OH) High School in 1961, received a Bachelor’s degree from Hiram College in 1965 and a Master’s degree from Indiana University.
Nancy worked at Mount Vernon (OH) Developmental Center as Manager of Staff Development for 25 years. She was co-owner of I-Conn Video Productions in Mount Vernon until one week prior to her death. She was active in many local organizations, including Ocean Waves Quilters Guild, Christ Episcopal Church Choir, and the Kiwanis Club of Jacksonville Beaches.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Adams; daughters, Karen (Jim) Scher and Carolyn (Steven) Hall and their  children, Adam, Brendan, Meghan, Zachary; as well as Chuck’s son, Ken (Negin) Adams, their children, Logan and Kason; Chuck’s daughter, Betsy Adams (David Berry); and brothers, Jeff (Allysen) Carver and Chuck (Youngmee) Carver.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 17th in Christ Episcopal Church of Ponte Vedra Beach. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 20th in Jacksonville National Cemetery.

Paul Matthew Woessner Sr., 84, passed away on Sunday, March 5th, 2017. He was born on September 4, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Matthew Gunther and Freida Frances Woessner. He graduated from Carl Schurz High School and went on to attend Northwestern University.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother Curtis and son David. He is survived by his wife Gladys, his children Paul Jr (Lindsey), Cathy, Steven (Debbie), Claudia, Lisa (Steve), Michael and Matthew; seven grandsons, Paul III (Morgan), Sean, Martin (Holly); Michael (Lauren), Mason, Andrew and Robert and six great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, 150 Sherry Drive, Atlantic Beach, FL on April 8th at 11:00am.

Crystal (McMinn) Hill, age 33, of Neptune Beach, Florida passed away on March 14th, 2017 due to complications from heart surgery. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 28, 1983 in Memorial Hospital. Crystal was a lifelong Beach resident attending Beaches Chapel School and Duncan U. Fletcher High School graduating in 2001.
Crystal married Richard Hill on June 30, 2006. She loved her husband and her family deeply. She was kind, compassionate, strong and courageous. She has a smile that spoke, even shouted, her love for everyone. Crystal was a well-loved member of Beaches Chapel Church serving in the nursery ministry and worship team. Crystal will be missed here but we know that she lives forever with Jesus.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Hill, Jr; parents Howard and Dawn McMinn; brother, Robert and sister, Hannah; grandparents, Deanne Scoggins and David (Christine) Riffle; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A powerful celebration of her life was held Friday, March 17th at Beaches Chapel Church, 610 Florida Blvd., Neptune Beach. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her honor to Beaches Chapel Church or The Lupus Foundation of America.

BOESGER, JACQUELINE ANN

Our mother, Jacqueline Ann Boesger, a resident of Pablo Towers, left this earth to fly with the angels on March 12, 2017 peacefully and beautifully. Jackie was born on August 18, 1930 the seventh of eight children of the Gaffney clan in Cleveland, Ohio. Jackie was married to George Boesger for 48 years who predeceased her. 
Jackie is survived by Leslie Lyne, Carrie Keller (Cooper), and Kurt & George Boesger, Bill Lyne, and Mack Hudgins; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; her adopted family at Locks Myth Salon, and many dear friends.  
Jackie’s most favorite trip was to China when she was showroom manager at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart. Jackie and Mack took many tours and cruises together making her life full and lively! Jackie loved playing bridge at many venues around the beach with many friends. She lived her life fully and happily.
A celebration of Jackie’s life is planned Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. at the Neptune Beach Senior Activity Center. Donations to honor Jackie’s memory can be made to the Neptune Beach Senior Activity Center where her life at the beach began in 2001.

BARNES, KATELYNN DANIELLE

Katelynn Danielle Barnes joined her loved ones in heaven on March 16, 2017. Her life was cut short unexpectedly in a fatal car accident near Mobile, Alabama. 
Katelynn was born on November 9, 2000 in Jacksonville Beach. Growing up in Jacksonville, Katelynn attended Fletcher Middle School and enjoyed being active at First Baptist Church Jacksonville Beach. Later she moved to Texas, where she attended Hays High School. She enjoyed life and lived every day to the fullest.  She loved country music, wearing cowboy boots, being with her friends, singing, and dancing. Her laugh could brighten any day. We will always remember her smile and her outgoing personality. 
Katelynn is survived by her parents, Winston Barnes and Katherine Richters, along with her 4 sisters, Brooklyn, Maddison, Savannah, and Bridgette. Katelynn also had numerous family members and friends that will miss her greatly.
The memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church Jacksonville Beach, 324 N. 5th St., on Saturday, March 25 at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Beach for  Kat Sharp’s “Help a child with autism fund”.
