Mary Alice Miles died peacefully on June 27, 2018 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida at the age of 87 from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Mary is survived by her three children: Dr. Thomas Broner & wife Nancy; David Eric Miles & wife Sue; and Stephanie Miles Young, all of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; and two stepsons, Earl Miles and Dana Miles of Jacksonville, Florida. She adored her grandchildren: Ashley (Lance) Broner Leepart, Alex (Kelly) Broner, Meredith Broner, Erica Miles (Chad) Stucki, Russell Miles, Zachary and Hayden Miles, Tara Scott (Scot) Shewey, Johnny Scott, Miles Scott, Elizabeth Miles (Jeff) Swatkowski. And she was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Harrison, Christian and Alexander Leepart, Liv and Elin Broner, Jude and Evie Stucki, Grayson and Harper Shewey, Jeffrey and Peyton Swatkowski. She is preceded in death by her husband, David R. Miles.
Mary was born on January 24, 1931 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Nora and Dorsey Dunn. She graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1948. She married Harold Thomas Broner soon after graduating. They later divorced and she married her husband of 45 years, David Miles. After Mary and Dave moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida in 1959, she began working in medical office administration which she continued until her retirement.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, July 13, 2018, 6:00pm, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach, with a reception to follow at the funeral home. The Reverend Dr. Kyle Reese will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary's life.
