DOUGLAS HISER DAYE (DOUG)
Douglas Hiser Daye (Doug), 69, passed away November 3, 2017. He was born December 12, 1947 in Springfield, OH, and moved to Atlantic Beach in 1984.
Doug attended the University of Kentucky, obtaining a degree in English Literature. He was involved in restoration carpentry in Lexington, KY, and in building and remodeling in the Jacksonville, FL, area. He was an avid fisherman and an accomplished cyclist. Doug took special delight in his sons and grandchildren.
Doug is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Katherine; sons Andrew (Sarah) and Jesse; grandchildren, Emma, Nora and Wyatt; his father, Homer O. Daye and brother, Rodger, both of Springfield, OH. Doug was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Daye.
A memorial get-together will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 Third Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
