Catalina Delos Reyes Alday, age 86, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away December 23, 2018 at St. Vincent's Medical Center Southside. She was born April 30, 1932 in the Philippines to Hermogenes Delos Reyes and Luisa Cunamay. Catalina moved to Jacksonville 36 years ago and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She prayed daily and was devoted to prayer and to Christ. She was employed at Gulf Life Insurance from 1983-1991 and then went to work for Vistakon for another 14 years before retiring. In her leisure time, Catalina enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting and cooking. She is predeceased by her parents; loving husband of 22 years, Galicano Alday; and son, Alexander Alday.
Catalina is survived by her children, Alfredo Alday of Philippines, Alfonso Alday of Kissimmee, FL, Alicia Cartagena of Jacksonville, FL, Alma Ajedo of Jacksonville, FL, Alonzo Alday of Renton, WA, Allan Alday of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Amador Delos Reyes of Philippines; sisters, Antonia Polonia of Philippines, Felisa Lyons of Jacksonville, FL, Apolonia Teats of Pensacola, FL, Ligaya Kirkland of Jacksonville, FL, Josefina Baylosis of Rome, Italy; grandchildren, Christine, Alvin, Alyssa Aljon, Al Johann, Al Joseph, Al Jonnas, Alfa Joanna, Wally, Wallen, Wesley, Adrian, Marc Andrew; great grandchildren, Addy, Finn, Wayne, Wico, Aldrei, Alexander Kirk, Aaeden, Althea, Aldrin.
A Celebration of Catalina's life will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Mayport Road. Interment will follow at Beaches Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
