Leon D'Shawn Bennett, 23, passed away suddenly on June 24, 2018.
Leon was born on September 10, 1994 in Jacksonville Florida. He graduated from the Jacksonville Marine Science Center. Leon’s passions in life were his 2 sons, his family, writing rap music, poems & performing at various venues. Leon also worked with family doing landscaping. He was a die hard Jaguars fan and his favorite player was Jalen Ramsey. Leon also loved to play basketball & followed LeBron James. He enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family & friends. Leon was described by his step father as an "Old Soul" and was "old school" in many ways and was not fond of new technology. Leon's children, fiancee & family were his whole life and he had a heart of gold. His beautiful smile & sound of his laughter will be missed by so many.
Leon leaves behind his 2 young sons, Lukas 2 yrs. old, & Liam 5 months old, his fiancee LaKea Renee Pringle of Jacksonville, his Mother, Rhonda Kelly, step father James Phillips of Atlantic Beach, Biological father Leon D. Bennett of Jacksonville, Sisters- Breana Kelly, (niece Keyah Bailey) of Jacksonville, Devauna Thomas, (niece Ahmirah) (Nephew Ahmari) of Atlantic Beach. Brothers- Michael Bennett of Atlantic Beach, & Devin Bennett currently stationed at Ft. Jackson SC (US Army) Grandparents- Edward Kelly Jr. of Jacksonville, & Susan Kelly of Jacksonville Beach. Leon had a very big family & will be missed by his great grandparents, aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, cousins & close friends. Leon is now watching over us from Heaven.
Leon's Celebration of Life was held at Arlington Park Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday June 30, 2018. Pastor Donnie Hutto officiated.
