ALLEN JOHN BOONE, JR.
Allen John Boone, Jr., 85, of Jacksonville Beach passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017. Born in New Jersey he was a son of the late Allen John & Nora Doris Harper Boone. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Allen moved to Jacksonville in the 40’s and over the years enjoyed being a Pop Warner Coach, member of the Fraternal Order of Police Assoc., member of the Moose Lodge in Jacksonville Beach and the Elks Lodge. He opened his own upholstery shop, Allen Boone’s Upholstery in the late 70’s and enjoyed a long running successful business until he fell ill in 2012 and had to close the shop. He was known by many in the beaches area because of his love for this community and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Tina; son, Steve Boone and his wife Renee; daughter, Debra Corbitt and her husband, Johnny; brother, Marvin Boone and his wife Judy; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 12 noon at the Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, the family will greet friends following the service and burial will take place in Peoria Cemetery in Orange Park at 3:30pm.
