Alexander Varela, age 75, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away December 17, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Riverside. He was born June 1, 1942 in Tarrytown, New York to the late Manuel Varela and Amiela Daniello Varela. Alexander proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his years in the service he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and later a Truck Driver and Logistics Expert. Alexander is preceded in death by his parents.
Alexander is survived by his brother, Emanuel (Joan) Varela of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Linda DeCoursey of Ormand Beach, FL.
A Celebration of Alexander’s life will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Beaches Memorial Park Chapel where military honors will be rendered. Interment at Beaches Memorial Park Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
