Roger Dale Rau Sr., age 68, of Atlantic Beach, Florida passed away October 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 2, 1949 to Donald P. Rau Sr. and Beverly King Rau. Roger moved to Atlantic Beach in 1989 from Norfolk Virginia. He retired honorably served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician. Roger enjoyed making models of all kinds, including cars, airplanes and helicopters. He was also very talented at woodworking. Roger loved cooking, telling stories and spending time with his family.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathy Rau of Atlantic Beach, FL; two children, Roger D. Rau, Jr and Beverly (David) Enicks both of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Keith Rau of Mt Airy, MD; 6 grandchildren, Nicolas, Andrew, Isa, David III, Lucas and Lauren.
A gathering will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Beaches Memorial Park Chapel. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services at Beaches Memorial Park, 1500 Main Street, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233. (904)249-1166.
