Caroline Louise Koester Holland, 88, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, passed away at Mayo Hospital, Monday September 25, 2017. Born February 21, 1929 in Summerville, South Carolina, she lived 32 years of her life as a military wife with her husband Charles Holland and they retired to Jacksonville Beach where they built their home in 1974. They enjoyed their life at the beach sharing their time between there home and their beach condo at Crescent Beach, Florida. Caroline’s life revolved around her children and her home and she was Mimi and Gran Mamma to all her grandchildren. Caroline is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Charles Holland, son, Charles D. Holland, Jr. (Celeste), son Jerry Holland (Beverly), daughter Jacquie Aslinger (Scott). She also leaves behind her grandchildren Brian Holland (Kylie, Joshua Holland (Andrea), Katie Holland Slucker (Brian), Caroline Aslinger, Carrie Aslinger and Caitlin Aslinger along with her 5 great-grandsons, Ethan Holland, Liam Holland, Jordan Broadnax, Henry Slucker and Jaxson Holland. Caroline also leaves behind a devoted sister Virginia Crawford (Johnny) and a brother Herman Koester (Barbara) both of Summerville, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her son Charles Houston and her brothers John Koester, Harry Koester, and Walter Koester (Bobbi Ann). Caroline will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A home-going celebration was held Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11am, preceded by a visitation at 10am at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida with Father Tom Bary officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
