Alfonso Theodore Glover, age 74, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 in a tragic automobile accident in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the eldest child born on February 11, 1943 to the late Alfonso Theodore Glover, Sr. and Ruth Ella Gilbert.
Alfonso was an Army Veteran. He was also an avid skier, tennis player and family man. He enjoyed cooking, listening to good music, and was a great Chess player. Alfonso enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He was a dual resident of Jacksonville, Florida, and Brooklyn New York, an entrepreneur at heart. Alfonso truly loved and enjoyed life to the fullest. A graduate of New Stanton High School in Jacksonville, Florida, Class of 1960, (New Stanton Blue Devils), most dignified and the most courteous. Hobbies include swimming and baseball, working on the student council and the newspaper.
Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso Theodore Glover, Sr. and Ruth Ella Gilbert; brother, Charles Glover; nephew, Aaron Beatty. Alfonso Theodore Glover is survived by a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Alfonso’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Ferreira Funeral Services at Beaches Memorial Park. Entombment will take place at Beaches Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
