Mary Francis Potter Cawvey, age 66, at Atlantic Beach, Florida passed away March 22, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born October 17, 1950 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida to Herbert Hover Potter, Sr. and Roberta Estelle Harris. Mary has been a lifelong resident of Duval County and was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. She was self-employed as Duval County Bus Driver for many years before retiring.
Mary loved NASCAR and football, especially the Florida Gators. She also enjoyed on-line shopping and playing bingo and darts. Mary is predeceased by her parents; husband of 30 years, Charles Martin Cawvey, Sr.; daughter, Susan Tetreault; brother, David Potter; sister, Bobbie Potter.
Mary is survived by her children, Jeff (Stephanie Cox) Potter of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Joe (Gail) Tetreault, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Gerry (Lorenda) Cawvey of Orange Park, FL, Charles Cawvey of Orange Park, FL, Lawrence Gebhardt of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Dennis Potter and Sunny Potter both of Jacksonville, FL; sisters Karen Potter of Jacksonville, FL and Gail Potter of Atlantic Beach, FL; grandchildren, Ashley Marie (Christopher I) Christofferson, Armond Joseph (Holly Robey) Tetreault III, Lauren Alissa Cawvey, Ava Gail Tetreault, Nathan Cawvey Tetreault; 3 great grandchildren, Caelyn, Caycee, and Chris II Christofferson.
A Celebration of Mary’s life was held on March 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkwood Baptist Church, 7900 Lone Star Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32211 with Pastor Paul Steinbach. Interment followed at Beaches Memorial Park. The family received friends Tuesday prior to service at the church from 12:00-2:00 p.m. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
